Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that grows in the mesothelium, which is the protective lining covering your body’s internal organs. However, the most common mesothelioma occurs in the outer lining of the lungs and internal chest wall – also known as ‘pleura’ – and is therefore called pleural mesothelioma.
Unlike lung cancer that shows a strong relation with smoking, pleural mesothelioma is first and foremost caused by inhaling asbestos particles: be it on people’s job or secondary by washing clothes of people that have been exposed to asbestos. That’s why mesothelioma is often called asbestos cancer.
Despite chemotherapy treatment, radiation therapy and sometimes even surgery, a mesothelioma prognosis is normally poor. Do get inspired by reading title="Jim's son's victory over metastatic liver cancer">Jim’s son’s victory over metastatic liver cancer.
