@gyrate4 , ya, exposure . who knows, but i can tell you your not alone, here in australia its all around me, if i go out my back door i can see around 30 x 1metre sheets of it all in my 3 surrounding neighbours yards, and its dark and old and degraded just one look at the stuff makes ya chringe. Not to mention around 1985 its still used in all brake pads / clutch discs for buses/ cars/ trucks and from what i’ve seen in australia, there is no safe removal in place, ppl freely poison every1 else

Construction workers often remove it improperly during renovation and spread it throughout buildings. This way it exposes other tenants in a building. No telling how much asbestos I’ve been exposed to in NYC.

I am using my husbands sign on, and yes I have the cancer, or hopefully had.I never was around asbestos, I have been through so many precedures this last year that no one could ever imagine going through, I now have one lung and that was not the hardest part, being told your going to die just hopefully later rather than sooner. Try telling that to your 5 year old.
By reading your comments about asbestos I can tell that you are full of shit when you say you are a med student. If you are you wasted your money as you didn’t get the proper education. I would see a lawyer if I was you and sue the university that you at.
If you have a certain gene in your body then all it takes is ONE asbestos fiber to cause mesothelioma and it can take between 10 to 45 years to show itself. The mesothelioma cancer is fiberous and spreads out like a carpet which makes it hard to detect until it developes into stage IV.
My wife passed away 9 years ago after a hard fought 20 months of very aggressive treatments. I am here and will gladly talk to you. Don’t give up fighting. Let me know if you want to talk.
